The Caledonian Boar is one of the boss in Herc's Adventures. It can be found during the the Caledonian Boar quest. One of the guard stationed nearby will tell the heroes that it has eaten Rufus, another guard along with the A Key he kept within his person. Making it necessary to defeat the boar in order to continue their journey.

Encounter[]

The huge boar was encounter inside the "arena" not far from Lerna. It's giant footsteps can be heard for far away to indicate it's near. Its arena is a large, winding layer of thick plants groves. Despite the labyrinthine nature, navigating through it is very easy once the battle begins as the Caledonian Boar can breakthrough the walls, permanently open the part for the heroes and gives more room to maneuver around.

Another denizens includes a seemingly endless number of boarlets that charges at the heroes in direct horizontal line. They can spawn from any plant walls inside the arena, accompanied by the sound of dry leaves and loud squeaks. A careless but friendly hunter can also be encounter here along with a couple of bear traps that he apparently forgot to arm and can be pick up. The hunter is too preoccupied with studying the animal trail and giving hero advise to notice the surrounding and can be trampled to death by the monster boar if the fight erupt nearby.

Attacks[]

Biting and swallow (Close Attack) : The Caledonian Boar can charge directly at the hero in four cardinal lines, trampling and plowing through everything in its path including walls and NPCs. If hitting a hero, the boar will take a quick bite at them repeatedly, dealing moderate damage. If the hero still stays on its charging line, these bites may turn into a Swallow attack. In which the boar will gulped the whole and stay bloated on the spot. The hero will suffer a small but continuous damage while being inside the belly of the beast. Repeatedly tap every buttons to knock its stomach up and force it to belch them out. On CO-OP mode, another hero may use this opportunity to inflict damage without fear of retaliating from the resting beast.
Energy Beam Attack (Distance Attack) The Caledonian Boar's stomach will glow blue from the inside before belching a blue beam that travels full full screen along with multiple, bouncing plasma balls that goes around half screen. Like the charging attack, the boar can only target the hero in four cardinal lines. Getting hit by the beam will cause the hero to suffer an electric shock that roots them in place, while the plasma balls deals negligible damage.

Items[]

Upon defeating the Caledonian Boar, it will spit out the "A" Key. The boar can also be lift and will automatically on the players inventory. It can be give to a man exclaimed, "I could eat a whole boar" where he will reward a Health Heart upon giving it to him.
